Access for Everyone
One of the major goals of the project is to create greater community access to the Potomac River in Arlington.
Currently, the community is cut off from the river by the George Washington Memorial Parkway that runs adjacent to the shorelines throughout the county.
Although the Theodore Roosevelt Island and Gravelly Point parks offer some access, the boathouse would give the community direct access to recreation and educational opportunities right from Rosslyn.
Easy, walkable accessible access would enhance opportunities to interact with the tremendous resource that is the Potomac and currently lives within view, but not easily within reach.
