Parents, students, coaches, and community members attended the 10/14/23 Arlington County Board meeting to show their support for the boathouse project. Wakefield student-athlete Luke Thurston shared his thoughts with the board, expressing from the heart why the success of this project is so important to the high school programs and community as a whole. Failing infrastructure at other facilities, long travel times on busy roads into D.C., and unavoidable expenses are but a few reasons an Arlington Boathouse is so important to our young athletes. Thanks to Luke and everyone who took their time to go and champion the project. The voices in our community, your voices, are what provide the energy for this project to move forward!
